We left last Friday morning for Disney World. This trip wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for Mark's brothers family. *Pretty much anything I know about Disney has been taught and learned through them. All the information I have and that I share is knowledge that I have learned from them.* We have THE BEST time visiting the MOST magical places on Earth with them. This was our 3rd March in a row to travel together. Each year it gets better and better...this year was no exception!! Memories are made that will LAST A LIFETIME!
Our flight was at 5:30 A.M. This is the second year we have had the early straight flight to Orlando. We used the Parking Spot valet and I don't think we will ever use anything else. It was great! We pulled up and unloaded our luggage from our vehicle and we might have touched it once more before we were in our room in Disney.
We made the kids sleep on the plane. No electronics...eyes closed SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP!! We needed them rested for the next non-stop 5 days! Thankfully we all slept. It was perfect. The picture above is in the terminal tram in the Orlando airport. Magic bands are on and we are ready to PARRRTTTYYYYY!!!!!
We loaded the Magical Express and traveled to our resort, Disney's Boardwalk. We loved it!! We stayed at Beach Club last year and loved it too. We love being able to walk to into a park. We take 2 umbrella strollers to the park and it works so well for us. We can divide when needed and each kid has their own space. Both strollers lay flat which works perfect for napping and/or the ride back to the resort at night.
We landed around 7am...8am local time. The ride to the resort isn't too long. We checked in and headed straight to the park. Note to others: if you aren't going to wait on your luggage be sure everything you need for the parks is in your carry-on. Anything you don't need you can leave with the bell man to take to your room with your luggage when it arrives. We had shorts packed but didn't need to change. The weather was perfect in jeans and lightweight shirts.
It was St. Patrick's Day (a.k.a. Green Patrick's Day, as Sloane likes to say). We took the obligatory picture in front of the castle before getting lunch. A crowd favorite for us is Pinocchio Village Haus....the chicken parmesan sandwich is AMAZING! ;)
After lunch we walked next door for a relaxing 3-D show, Mickey's PhilharMagic,as our food settled. Our first FP (fastpass) was Seven Dwarfs Minetrain. At the time it was Sloane's favorite ride...it was a great way to start the trip!!!
Next we enjoyed a LeFou's Brew at Gaston's Tavern. It was WAY better than I expected. Both Wyatt and Sloane loved it! We went to our second FP where some of us stayed behind (against our will--Sloane) to Space Mountain. Then can't miss the People Mover for a quick rest...while some of us grabbed some Starbucks.
We used our 3rd FP of the day on Thunder Mountain. We were able to all ride this together! We split up and some us too a minute to shop while others enjoyed the Enchanted Tiki room. When we all gathered back together we started walking toward Disney's Contemporary resort for our dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. As a family Mark and I had eaten here in 2011. Wyatt was almost one and Sloane wasn't born yet. It had been a while and we were really looking forward to it.
The food was better than I remembered! It is buffet style with classic characters...
We ended the evening with Epcot and riding Frozen Ever After for the FIRST time! It was AMAZING!!! A little shorter than what I thought it would be but still was AMAZING...
The next morning came early!! Mark and Kyle had the first tee time at Magnolia/Palm on Saturday morning. We took our time getting up and ready that morning. The rest of us got breakfast at Starbucks in Disney Springs before our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment.
We had plans to spend the rest of the day at Hollywood so the girls didn't want to be dressed as princesses the rest of the day. We opted Star Wars themed that day...and it worked well. ;)
It's so cute! I couldn't believe Sis picked this hairstyle. It was something she had picked out before we even got there. As much as she is our little princess she didn't pick a little princess look/hairstyle. ;)
This was the first time we went to the BBB in Disney Springs. It's in a new location and it GREAT! It was clean (not that it ever wasn't), organized, new, and so cute! There are awesome finishing touches that EVERYONE enjoys.
They continued to wait for us ;) (we grabbed some pretzel snacks before leaving Disney Springs) and they had a chance to meet Kylo Ren. Even though it doesn't look like it I hear the boys loved it...his force is pretty powerful from what I hear....;)
*FYI: in the Star Wars Launch Bay there is an area for Disney credit card holders can visit...you don't know what character you will meet but it's a short wait and such a fun surprise! *
We finally met back up with the guys in time to get on our Tower of Terror FP. Tower of Terror is Sloane's favorite ride. ;) I don't think she EVER hangs on....(back left corner, all you can see are her arms and hands)
After Tower of Terror we used our FP to Midway Mania (the Toy Story ride), and ended on Star Tours. We also spent some time in the Launch Bay. We enjoyed dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine-Inn Theater restaurant. This was our first time eating there...it wasn't our favorite but wasn't terrible. Wyatt wasn't a big fan of the movies but we did have a good time. They enjoyed sitting in the cars and getting shakes instead a drinks. ;)
We concluded our evening watching the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. The show is a firework and laser show projected onto the Chinese Theater. As we walked home there were quite a few lightsaber fights had by all...
That concludes Day 1 & 2...stay tuned for the rest of the trip.
