This past week tragedy struck a dear friend of mine. Her father was killed in a motorcycle accident last week. He was killed instantly. Death is always hard...always. It seems no matter how many times it "happens to you" it never gets easier.
One thing is clear...our hope will remain in Jesus Christ. When situations like this happen you can turn and run or you can face it head on. I choose to face it head on, to learn, to stop and listen to what the Lord is trying to teach me through it all. I didn't get to this place overnight and have so much more to learn but thankfully the Lord gives each of us grace.
The words above are lyrics to a song I found stuck in my head after the funeral on Monday. ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND.
This is so true...
We get to stand on a SOLID rock. When I looked up the actual definition for the word solid it states: it is "characterized by structural rigidity and RESISTANCE TO CHANGE of shape or volume." Christ is that SOLID rock he is RESISTANCE TO CHANGE. Can I get an amen?!?!? ;)
So when change happens, and it's going to happen whether we like it or not...Christ wants us to stand firm in HIM. When the service started Monday and the first song was played the VERY first person to stand with her arms raised to the Lord was the widow. She has been a widow for less than a week and is standing firm on her rock, Christ Jesus.
Remember today you can choose to STAND ON SOLID ground...
