The dreaded picky eater...

Getting everyone to sit down and eat the same meal is a chore around here. I grew up with family dinner, on the table, cooked from scratch by my mom, every night. It was a BIG deal! My friends still talk about the Curtis dinner table. "What's said at the table stays at the table," right?!?!? ;) I always knew I wanted that for my own children. It wasn't until I had my own I would learn how hard that really was...

Mark doesn't get home until after bedtime 2 nights a week so we really try to make sit down dinners a part of our routine the other nights. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't-it's give and take right?!?! On the nights where I am just feeding the kids, since I wait to eat a "real meal" with Mark, I used to struggle to find something quick and easy but still healthy.

We also try to teach Wyatt and Sloane living a healthy lifestyle isn't all about what food you eat, even though it does play in important part! We have a few different ways we do that at our house!

1. My kids LOVE all things dairy. We watch their dairy intake very carefully but have found there are a few items that are a MUST have on our grocery list. The CHOBANI Champion Tubes are on that list! We have tried most of the flavors but my kids enjoys the Jammin Strawberry the BEST!


There are quite a few restaurants who serve these tubes with their kid's meal and the kids LOVE it! There is even options for the super "little" now as well! Chobani tots looks amazing!

2. Stay active...we go play outside ALL THE TIME. We find ourselves at the pool in the summer almost every day! As they have gotten a little older sports have started as well. Another way is lead by example: we go on family bike rides and I also have them in the stroller while I run most of the time.

3. Keep them involved. I have found my kids love to eat anything they make. I love having them in the kitchen with me so it's a win/win! We make healthy food and some fun treats as well! It's important for them to learn the difference. All is great in moderation.

I know as time passes this list will need to be adjusted but for now these are a few things that work great for us! If you are struggling now to find get your family healthy just take small steps. You will get there!
