Fall *educational* Fun!

Is is just me or did Fall just slap you in the face? I feel like our Summer was crazy fun but I can't believe it's already Oct. WOW! We were finally establishing a pretty good M-F routine around here when I realized I should probably be doing a few more structured activities throughout the day.

We have started REALLY limiting the amount of "screen time" the kids have lately. Wyatt is a child who will not take his eyes off the tv when it's on...like he really can block out everything. Call me crazy but it's not even that he is ignoring you I honestly don't think he hears when someone is speaking to him if he is watching a show. He has always been a one track mind...and boy does he stay on track...like PERFECTLY on track. He struggles to get off the track sometimes. ;) Anyway...

They don't ask for the television if it's off so this is just easier. They have lots of toys and love to play! Sloane is starting to play independently as well. Like it or not, Wyatt being at school 3 days a week has really helped this develop...her little BIG personality is shining for sure! ;) Though she still cries for "her Wyatt" at drop off  95% of the time she is getting over it quicker each day.

When looking for fun and easy craft where else does 1 turn...?!!?!? Pinterest, duh! I have found so many fun activities in the past 2 days. The teacher in me came out and I ran our printer out of ink in just 1 day. LOL! Today I printed Q-tip art pages from HERE. There are so many awesome activities, resources, and ideas on this site!!! Wyatt and Sloane BOTH enjoyed this activity. To make it a bit more challenging:

For Wyatt I asked him to create patterns using the colors I gave him.
For Sloane I told her what color to use and she had to choose the correct one.

Yesterday I found another AWESOME site as well... Gift of Curiosity

Her Halloween FREE printable packet was over 95 pages. I only printed the ones I knew I would use or that were on their correct learning level.

And...because I wanted to use them RIGHT the second they came off the printer I had the kids use ziplock bags with their markers so we could re-use the papers. ;) I have some of the protective sheets somewhere and will find them but this worked and they loved it!

The best past about BOTH of these site are they are FREE!!! Please be sure to read their agreements but what a great resource! I am so happy to have a bit more structured time learning with the kids during the day. I love it and the best part is...SO DO THEY!!!
