Christmas Card 2013

* I wish I could send all my friends out in blog land a Christmas but I can't...;( so here is our 2013 Christmas card, from my family to yours.

Dear Family and Friends,
It’s crazy to think an entire year has passed since I wrote our “2012 Christmas Letter.” Everyone always talks about how time flies when you are having fun and we have found that to be so very true!  2013 was full of fun and blessings and we can’t wait to see what is in store for our family in 2014. January started with an amazing ski vacation to Beaver Creek, CO with my extended family. While we were there Mark and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary.  There were 16 of us total and we truly had a great time with each other! This trip was Mark’s first official time snow skiing and he did awesome, I like to think it’s because he had a great teacher! ;) February was a busy month for us! Mark and I took a little weekend trip to Nashville, TN. We visited some of our dear friends and had such an enjoyable time together.  Sloane had to have tubes put in her ears just a few weeks shy of her first birthday. She did so well and was such a trooper through the entire experience.  Wyatt and Sloane also hosted a fun little Valentine’s Day play date and had a BLAST exchanging Valentine’s with all their little friends.  STL also had a few “warmer” days and we were able to enjoy a little time outside even if it was still February.
In March our Sloaney girl turned ONE! We celebrated with a fun pink party surrounded by family and friends. Our little girl is so blessed to have so many friends and family that love her so much! We also went to a Disney on Ice show as well. The kids loved it and it’s always a great show! Easter was also in March and we were able to celebrate Christ with our families. April was a month filled with fun playdates and friends! We love the STL Zoo, Creation Station, Magic House, and even have a few favorite parks.  Sloane started using a fork and took a few steps in April as well.
May is always an emotional month for us. We celebrated Wyatt’s 3rd birthday but also experience the anniversary of Ryder’s death. Wyatt had a super hero party at the park near our house. We usually try to stay busy throughout the month, this year was no exception! Mark and I went to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Fox, Mark’s dad took him to the PGA Senior Championship, we attended Kirsten’s (Mark’s sister) Master’s graduation, we made a few trips to Jackson, and even had time to visit the “duck (Suson) park.” June marked our first day to swim and I think the kids would have lived there if we could, they LOVED the water! We spent sooo much time swimming. Wyatt had a few swim lessons and was very comfortable without floaties.  Sloane had NO FEAR of the water and would even jump off the diving board by herself! We are praying they love the water again this coming summer as well.
July was another fun filled month. We continued to spend lots of time at the pool and even celebrated July 4th poolside. We spent the day with great friends and good food! It was an awesome pool party and BBQ! We picked peaches with the Dumey’s Eckert’s and I think we ate more than we ended up taking home. ;) We love peaches!  In July Wyatt also attended a week long British Soccer Camp. He made 2 little friends and LOVED his coach.  August was a hot one! Mark and I went on our annual Jammin’ at the Zoo date with the Dumey’s. We always have such a great time together! Mark took Wyatt to hit golf balls at the driving range for the first time with his cousins. He did well and even has a few clubs of his own now! ;) Like father, like son-right?!?! We finished up the swimming season and even attended a few Cardinals games too. August also marked Wyatt’s 1st official day of preschool. He is in a 2-day a week program and has an AMAZING teacher! We are 4 months in and we are still working on this transition…
September was a BIG month as it marked one full year of Mark working at Schmitz Chiropractic. He loves his job and is AMAZING at what he does! (not that I am bias or anything) We also went with Mark’s family on a weekend trip to Chicago. We had a blast doing fun touristy things together. Mark and I still own EXEPDITEstl which requires us to travel to Chi-town once a month but we only give ourselves ONE day to complete our shopping so it was nice to actually stop and stay a few days. LOL! In September Mark and I also had a weekend away as I was in one of my best friend’s wedding in Columbia, MO. It was a beautiful wedding and it’s always so fun to catch up with old friends.  October is always so crazy for us! We attended the Remembrance Walk for Ryder again this year. We also even had a few family members and friends who joined us as we took steps Ryder never got to take. As a family we went to the pumpkin patch and each picked out our own pumpkin to decorate. Mark and I had the chance to attend a Cardinal playoff game together and enjoyed a fun daytime date. We also traveled to Sam A. Baker State park with my family in October. It’s always a perfect quite weekend away with family and this year didn’t disappoint. The 1st Annual Ryder Cup Memorial tournament was organized by Mark’s brother and a few family members, it was a success! October came to a close as Woody and Jessie walked out neighborhood trick or treating in the pouring down rain.
November FLEW by…Mark’s parent’s took us to Orlando and we got to see the mouse. ;) The kids had blast and we couldn’t have been more blessed to make such awesome memories! We also celebrated Zetta girl’s 1st b-day. And that brings me to now…December, WOW what a year! I pray 2013 was full of blessings for your family as well, bring on 2014!

I wanted to attempt to make our Christmas cards this year. I really liked the idea of people being able to remove the card and have the actual picture. I mean really, who wouldn't want a cute picture of my kids in their Christmas pj's hanging up ALL YEAR?!?!? ;) They didn't turn out how I imagined but oh well...we are keeping things simple this year...and I am trying to be fine with it!
