Answers to "Ask Mama Emily" pt. 1

A few weeks ago I opened my blog up for questions. I did fear I wouldn't have anyone ask questions but I did have a few. ;) Phew! I am going to split it into 2 posts.

Answers Part 1:

If you had a "ME" date where you could do anything by yourself, for the day how would you spend it, what would you do?

I would love to sleep through the night and wake up on my own. That would be an amazing start to the day! ;) Slowly getting up and preparing for the day, without having to do ANY of my normal morning chores or routine besides heading out the door to get a Diet Coke.  I would love to be able to walk through Target and then enjoy some PF Changs for lunch. Even though it sounds a little weird I would enjoy being about to be at my house to clean, pick up, etc. without children around. It's really hard to clean when you have little ones DESTROYING everything in the other room. Even though the question says by myself I would probably still want to have dinner as a family and have our bedtime routine. I love being able to kiss my babies after they fall asleep. ;)

Do you love where you live or do you wish you could live somewhere else? What is your favorite thing about the area you are in?

This is a tough one. I do enjoy living where we live...there is lots to do especially with the kids! To be honest I never saw myself leaving Jackson, MO where I grew up. Falling in love changed my mind a bit. ;) To be honest I do think it would be fun to live somewhere else but just for a short period of time. I don't think that would ever happen with kids though. We are really close to Mark's parent's and a little more than an hour from mine so I wouldn't want to move away from family at this point in our lives, they mean to much to us. If I could move somewhere else though...I would love CO. We vacationed there during the winter as a child and I love it all!!! I don't mind the cold weather as long as I could ski! Mark and I traveled there in the Spring during the "muddy season" one year and the weather was amazing. We have also been there during the summer and had a GREAT time.
I love having 4 DEFINED seasons where I live now. There isn't ever a question about what season we are in around here. I love the myriad of things to do with the kids and the fun places to eat as well. It's also super fun to enjoy a few professional sports teams and the events that follow that!

How do you stay so fit?
This is a tough one to answer!  First of all I am flattered to be called "fit." During the summer I trained with a trainer at the gym but to be honest it was just too expensive. But on the flip side I have no motivation to go alone. I have always just been an "active" person with a pretty fast metabolism. If you have followed my blog for any amount of time to see pictures of my family...my dad is 6'3 and 155lbs. ;) with that said I guess you can also say it runs in the genes. 30 isn't far so we shall see what age does to this old body. Ha!!!

Where do you get your kids clothes?

This answer will make me sound like a crazy mama. The answer would be EVERYWHERE! I live near an AMAZING resale store and I love me a great sale at Gap. ;) I like to get solid everyday tee's at Target because they are so cheap and I don't feel so bad if they only get a few wears out of them.  Gymboree and Old Navy are a few other places I frequent as well. I have also recently discovered other mama's who have  Instagram accounts selling lightly used clothes, it's been awesome!
