Last Week

I didn't get around to posting much last week. We had a crazy busy week. I strive to be one of those people who call themselves "busy" because they have one thing in a day. I wish I could sometimes only mark one thing on my calendar and then if anything else comes along decline because we "already have something." Then we have weekends like this one where we went NONSTOP but Mark and I sat down on the couch Sunday night and both agreed we had a blast! It's fun to have family, friend, and party filled weekends every so often. We wouldn't trade it for the world.

Last week was an emotional one for us...Wednesday marked 3 years since we buried Ryder. It's crazy to think about the day 3 years ago. I replayed it over and over on Wednesday.  Honestly I think this year it was a tougher day for me than Wyatt's actual birthday. Without reliving details I just don't have a lot of memories the day Wyatt was born. I remember every part of June 5th, 2010.

I remember coming home from the hospital and sitting in their room. I remember crying as Mark held me as we went thru "their closet." Those are memories we don't wish on ANYONE. Let's be real...it sucks BAD!

But...this week I have had a song chorus in my head on repeat...

"Because he lives

I can face tomorrow
Because he lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because he lives"

Mark and I strive to live daily with those words on repeat in our head. We have our moments, like all do, but in the end know that God is Good...ALL the time.

As we prepared to lay our head on our pillow Wednesday night we received news that a friend from Mark's high school graduating class had unexpectedly passed away, leaving behind a 3 yr. old, 1 yr. old and a pregnant wife. DEVASTATING, there are no words. We just spent memorial Day weekend at Mark's class reunion. He graduated with about 30 students so this was a very close group of people. When I think of the significant loss that happened and those left on Earth I get physically sick. I think...well I KNOW it's a feeling you can't even describe to another human. It makes my heart hurt! Blah! That's all...

As you lay your head on your pillow thank the Lord for giving you another day. Think about your actions and love on your family. Make sacrifices to see them, to spend time with them, and not just when it fits in your schedule and works for you. MAKE THEM IMPORTANT-MAKE THEM FEEL IMPORTANT!

  1. Delighted to meet you today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. This looks like a refreshing place to dip into some serious goodness.

Also wanted to extend an invite ... to share this post (or another fave) to encourage even more moms. We could use it.
