Ringing in 2013

We have never been big party people, New Year's Eve is no exception. Before we had children we usually got together with friends and hung out. We spent one New Year's Eve skiing with friends, it was a blast! The past few years have been "laying low" as we celebrate. I was pregnant last year...I don't think my root beer float and I even made it to midnight. LOL! 2012 was like other years, with many ups and downs. As it comes to a close our Christmas letter took you month by month so I don't think I will repeat. ;)

Thursday night Wyatt started running a fever...it's now Monday night. His fever broke in the middle of the night last night but we still took him into the Dr. today. Since we will be boarding a plane in FOUR DAYS (for a skiing vacation with my family) we decided we would rather be safe than sorry. Mark only worked Thursday of last week and has been off since-it's SO helpful with Mark home. I was telling him last night I don't know how I would have functioned these last few days without him. Wyatt has allowed me to do nothing but snuggle him on the couch. At first I was impatient but one night as I was snuggling him in bed singing him to sleep the Lord spoke sweet words to me. I know he was telling me to slow down. He was telling me to "stop and just enjoy my family." It's be a busy (but fun) holiday season but we needed these last few days as a family in 2012. As weird as it sounds coming from someone who CAN NOT stay at home all day, never stays in p.j.'s, etc. it was nice. It was refreshing...it was just what the Dr. ordered. ;)

Kelly's Korner asked 5 questions to recap 2012...

 1. What are you most thankful for?
I know this sounds cliché but I am sooooo thankful for a smooth birth of our baby girl. After the birth of the boys there was so much anxiety, fear, etc. leading up to her birth we were/are so thankful for the experience the Lord gave us!

 2. What were the highlights of 2012 for you?-Sloane's birth
-Wyatt turned 2
-Mark graduated Chiro. School
-Mark started working
-ExpediteSTL continued to grow
-Mark and I bought a new couch and paid CASH, along with a few other "real-life" items ;)
-taking our first vacation as a family of 4 paid for on our own
-Disney Land as a family

 3. What are you hoping for in 2013?-Live more simply, copying Kelly when I say "no" more and "yes" less
-to personally journal on paper more
-grow as a Christian woman (wife and mother)
-update a few BIG areas of our home
-to get both kids sleeping through the night and in their OWN beds

 4. What were some of your favorites of 2012? (Clothes, movies, songs, TV shows, )
-skinny jeans
-Modern Family T.V. show
-Target
-navy and yellow
-Duck Dynasty
-chevron
-Uggs
-instagram and twitter
-big necklaces
-long skirts
-diet coke

 5. Who was God to you in 2012?
-my comforter in time of need

Mark and I have talked a lot about what our goals are for 2013. We have talked about personal goals, goals for our marriage, our family, our home, and we are still "talking" about them.

AFTER reading many blog posts about the new year and others resolutions I have decided to "focus" on simplifying MY life, simplifying OUR life. This can and will bleed into many areas of our daily routine but it's nothing dramatic. I want to rid of the excess, buy/spend WAY less on wants, focus on quality over quantity, not compare to others, and strive for a more all around more minimalism life.

BRING it 2013 we are READY for you!!!
