Wyatt's One Year Pictures (picture overload)

Wow...that would pretty much sum up these pictures that were taken for us last weekend. Thanks are great and truly have a gift. ;)

Before I post the pictures I need to give a little background. Some info. for new followers and some for regular readers:
1. It's almost been a year since we lost Ryder...Wyatt's birth.
2. My mom had bears made from a few of Ryder's blankets. The one in the picture is from his comforter set, Wyatt uses the matching comforter.
3. The tree we are sitting in front of is a tree in Forest Park planted in memory of Ryder. This was a gift from Mark's classmates at Logan. EXTREMELY thoughtful....
4. The pinwheel is something we have kinda created to be "ours." A family representation of Ryder. We have a pinwheel at the grave-site and will have them all throughout Wyatt's b-day party.

Those 4 points...just a few things to keep in mind as you see the pictures. To a stranger they are just cute pictures with fun us the are a representation of our family. (Beware:picture overload...way to hard to choose just a few) Hope you ENJOY! ;)

If you'll wouldn't mind helping me out a bit...when/if you leave a comment could you help me out a bit in ordering a picture canvas? I bought a groupon a few weeks ago for a 16x20 (so not small) ;) and I don't know which picture to choose? A family one? Wyatt one? Cake one? A different one like the shoes? HELP PLEASE!?!?!? Thanks....

She was SO QUICK to fix it for me. So sweet.....thanks again for all your hard work.

If you are looking for a "make-over" check her out asap! She is doing a giveaway here for details!

Ariel's K-Graduation

Last week Ariel had her k-graduation. It was such a sweet ceremony. She attends a Christian school and it was so neat to see them worshiping the Lord AT SCHOOL at such a young age.
She was showered with gifts and flowers...of course! Aunt Em got her some books to read over the summer. Surprise Surprise....right?!?!? ;)

Congrats "sista" I am so proud of you!

Tougher than I thought.....

So this week is going to be tougher than I thought. With the 1 year anniversary of Wyatt's birth and Ryder's death fast approaching God's timing is always perfect.

My mom reads this blog. Today Leah Richardson posted this (I know it's a bit long but it you read you won't be disappointed...)

My heart is heavy this morning as I pray for everyone devastated by tornadoes and floods.
Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh.
“For,” he said, “God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father’s house.”
Genesis 41:51
At times, all of us have felt betrayed by those closest to us…maybe even God.
Let down
Hurt by carelessness
maybe even vindictiveness.
Our hearts don’t heal overnight nor is our memory washed away instantly, but, like Joseph, we can watch our sweet Lord purposely fill our cup to the brim and use all he gives as salve to slowly heal until we do forget…
find peace
even thanksgiving
the ruins.
If you remember Joseph’s story in the Old Testament of the Bible…he waited, but only trouble came.  Maybe after many, many years he questioned his dream…maybe he heard, saw or remembered it wrongly.  Joseph thought his family would be a safe place to share his dreams and visions, however crazy, with openness, candor, and a naive trust in man, which landed him in a deep pit.  The hand of the enemy was his own brother. Ouch!  Jealousy, so common, so real turned to envy, which blinded and deceived.  That story plays out the same today.
But God, who is infinitely patient and all knowing, uses the finite lines we draw in the sand as we cry out…Why Lord?
Are you suffering from a very close sting?
Weeping endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 37 tells us to
Commit your way to the Lord, trust him and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness, the light and your justice as the noonday sun.
For those who wait on the Lord shall inherit the land…
the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.
God is good and his promises enduring…
Let me encourage you.  Joseph’s second son was named Ephraim, which means double portion…double blessing! Joseph, like us, put one foot in front of the other and kept walking the right path trusting God.  He kept going, knowing that God’s hand is not too short to pull him, you, or me out of the pit and set our feet on a path of blessing.
Commit your way to the Lord.  Hold on to nothing…but Him.  The Lord owns cattle on a thousand hills…
Oh Lord we tie one to our heart to help us forget and ask you to add another to cause our cup to overflow until our hearts sing your glory and praise!

My mom then leaves a comment in Leah R. blog:

May 30, 2010 was a bittersweet day. My daughter delivered identical twin boys. One is sitting on Jesus’ lap and the other is here on earth with us. She was congratulated days before delivery by her doctor that she did everything right and we would be celebrating in just a few days. What we never expected was the cord wrapping around Ryder’s neck days before labor began. A day that emotion was beyond words. During the days after the birth “double blessings” was mentioned several times by completely different people. One being a note from Beth Moore’s daughter praying “double blessings” for Wyatt, our little grandson we cherish. At the funeral of his brother the pastor prayed for “double blessings” for Wyatt also. Now, as we approach the birthday you mention “double blessings”. My heart is so full at this time I am beyond words. Thank you. God is working in you in ways you cannot know. Much love and prayers for you and your ministry, Lisa
P.S. I have bought your book and given to others and recommended it to many. It is my daughter’s new favorite book (she is 22 and a newlywed). Thanks again.

Then....Leah so kindly responds to my mom:

Oh Lisa...sweet Jesus is surrounding you with confirmation that He is opening Heaven's windows in preparation of pouring out more than enough, more than needed... that wonderful more that only He can give.   Like King David, Wyatt will know one day that his lines have fallen in pleasant places and surely he has a delightful inheritance!  When you are full, share it just like you did with me.  We bless others when we share our story that brings God glory.

You are a precious encouragement to me today...thank you.

Shine your face brightly on Wyatt, Lord Jesus, heaping out a double measure that can only be explained in terms of a huge God we love and serve.

Love you sweet sister,

WOW! God's timing is perfect....this is just what I needed to hear on this Monday night.
(I hope you didn't mind mom that I copied and pasted) Thanks! ;)

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's birthday.
I am sad I can't be with him. He is a perfect example of what a dad should be.
He (and my mom) taught us right from wrong but let us try things on our own. We learned from our mistakes with them by our sides.
I could ask anything of my dad and he would be there for me. He shows so much love.
 I love you dad!
Your the best dad any girl could ask for!!! I hope you have a great b-day!!!!

A year ago.....

Most women have vivid memories from the last few weeks of their pregnancy. We remember being uncomfortable, we remember our thoughts of excitement and even fear. I have been staying busy but I can't seem to stop all these memories from flooding back. I think it's especially hard since last year this time was so important. My brother graduated high school (something I wanted to make it to from the day we found out I was pregnant) and my mom surprised my dad by flying my g-pa in from CA! There are so many pictures from that time....pretty much the last pictures taken of "us." I remember being so big....I remember how I felt and even how I looked....words can't describe my belly....;)
I really can't believe I am posting this picture but this was still 3 weeks before I went into labor (at 36 weeks) so this picture was taken at 33 weeks....WOW! How I miss my belly.....I want to be able to rub it just a few more times.

These pictures are about 2 weeks before I went into labor. Surprisingly I wasn't miserable....the only time that was tough was if I sat to long, other than that I was good. It's hard for me to look at these pictures but it's what I have of Ryder. Mark will not look at these pictures, he can't. It's to hard for him. I understand.

I post this because I want to journal what I am feeling now. I want to look back every year at this time and see how far we have come. I want to remember where we were/are in the healing process.

We are so blessed though....because when I look at these pictures I now also know Wyatt was growing in there too. I am with him everyday here on Earth, the cutest kid ever, the joy of our lives.

If you are reading this and are pregnant...give your belly a rub. Take a breath and enjoy these last few weeks. Remember the small things and sit back and trust in the Lord. After all, he is in control. ;)
