Praying

We have really been trying to teach Wyatt to fold his hands and bow his head as we pray together. He is catching on pretty quick.
(Mark and Wyatt at Thanksgiving)

*This was just another reminder for Mark and I that we lead by example. Wyatt is a mini-me of his daddy lately so it's been cute to watch each evening as we pray.* I have been trying to keep Christmas at our home CHRIST centered. One of the fun things we have started doing as a family is as we say our bedtime prayers we pray for specific families who sent us Christmas cards that day. We set them out and point to them. We talk about each person to Wyatt and say their names as we pray for the families. It's so fun and such a great reminder of the great family and friends we have been blessed with.

I also created a book of all the cards we received in 2010. I just can't bare to toss them in the trash. (not to mention how much $$ I know is being spent) It's a fun little thing to have sitting in our living room. Guests find it interesting, I like to sit and look through it, I have even found Wyatt sitting and looking through it a few times. I wish I had kept more than just last years card but I didn't, oh well...guess you have to start somewhere!!?!?!

  1. I love the idea of keeping cards from past years...I just pinned it!!! I hope you don't mind :) I always love to look back at stuff like that - especially pictures!

I think it's great that you are teaching Wyatt the TRUE meaning of Christmas. That is something that will mold him for his entire life!

  4. What a GREAT idea!!! I have ALL the cards from the past 10 years but they are just sitting in a box. I have a friend who takes all the photo Christmas cards and makes collages of all the pictures...too fun. She has huge frames from years and years on her walls. I like your idea too...would be a bit easier for me to manage. Thank you...you have such great ideas!!!
