It'a really getting to me...

Mark and I were talking the other day about Christmas this year. We were discussing how the "true meaning" seems to get so lost throughout the season then all of a sudden when Christmas Day comes we take a moment to finally celebrate the birth of Christ and then move about our jammed packed days. I don't know if it's because I am getting "older," if it's because I have become a mother, or what it is but I want to be different. The excessive buying, shopping, and just day to day stuff has really been getting to me lately. This morning Wyatt woke up extra early and we had no power ;( That meant no tv, no toaster, and most importantly no heat. I was really concerned about the tv thing at first and as the time went on I began to feel guilty. There are people with heat this winter....not just "no power for an hour." I know all this sounds so cliche but I don't care. I have been on the search for something special to do as a family. Growing up my mom always made it a point to keep the "Christ" in Christmas (I know this post if filled with terrible cliches...ha). I want to do the same for/with my family.

A friend of mine posted this video yesterday and it was an eye opener. Please take 2 min. to watch it! I read a blog, Simply Living for Him, and she is posting "25 days of Simple Christmas." I encourage you to take a peek and if you feel lead then follow along...I am sure it won't disappoint! Merry CHRISTmas ya'll!!!!

  1. I personally don't find Christmas stressful and I actually enoy all the hustle and bustle that comes along with it, however I do think once I'm a mum that hustle and bustle will probably become a lot more chaotic and I probably won't enjoy it so much.

The real reason behind Christmas is lost to most though, which I think is truly sad but at least families still come together during Christmas... I'd like to hear how you integrate Christ back into Christmas :)

  2. Thank you so much for sharing this video. It literally brought tears to my eyes! The reason is usually lost very quickly & I don't want to this season to go by it a chaotic blur. Love, love, love this post!

I always love what you'll have to say...thanks for stopping by!
