SURPRISE!!!!

Yesterday afternoon I went to a SURPRISE diaper shower for my friend Juli. This is her second baby...Baby Emmelia is due at the beginning of September. Juli is such a cute little pregnant woman. The shower was at the church Mark and I used to attend. She had no clue!!!

Juli thought she was going to dinner with some friends and they were meeting at the church. LOL! It was so funny when she walked in.  The shower was full of "sweet things."

Since it was her second baby they called it a "diaper shower" so she mostly got diapers. Such a cute idea. (if you aren't a "cloth" user...haha!)

Such a fun shower!!! We can't wait to meet baby Emmelia!!!

Girl Time

The past 2 nights have been so fun! Thursday night Wyatt and I went to my friend Jennifer's new house. Malerie was visiting STL for a continuing ed. class so we decided to have dinner together. Jenn just moved a month or so ago so she is still settling in...her place is so cute too! (she actually lives 2 door down from Kelley and Tyler...so only 3 mins. from us too)

We couldn't get the propane turned on to grill outside ;( so we had to use the faithful George Foreman. Oh well!! We had a great meal of chicken, salad, fruit, and potatoes! Dinner wouldn't be complete without dessert. Ha! We all loaded up and headed to Ted Drews ice cream place. LOVE IT! It was past Wyatt's bedtime so I didn't know how he would do...he did GREAT! I am pretty sure he ate more of Mal's concrete then she did. At one point as she was bringing the spoon to her mouth he pulled her hand and put the spoon right into his mouth. It was so funny and cute. He was such a doll!

Yesterday Mark and I had lots of Expedite STL stuff to finish up. He had school in the morning so we worked all afternoon. Last night I met a few girls for dinner to begin the plans for a friend's baby shower. Baby Weaver will be here in Nov.....we can't wait!!! We had dinner at Mimi's Cafe. It was so good. Every dinner comes with a muffin! I had a chocolate mousse muffin...AMAZING! It had icing and chocolate chips on top and it was WARM! Funny though....I felt like a kid because I only ate the top. LOL!

Mark has to be at school for a seminar again this weekend so Wyatt and I have just been hanging out. We went to the mall this morning to make a few returns. I have been taking him to the play place every once in a while...he loves them so much! We got there before the stores opened so there weren't many people there. (that's what happens when you have a 1 yr. old)

Wyatt fell asleep on the way home so he is napping now and I am working around the house blogging. It's raining so we plan to just lay low today!  :) Enjoy your weekend folks!

Jammin at the Zoo

Last night was one of the most enjoyable nights Mark and I have had as a couple in a long time. We went to the "Jammin at the Zoo" wine tasting with our friends Kelley & Tyler. We are so blessed to have such good friends...that live so close.

We had to have a family photo shoot before we left. Wyatt was being such a funny kid. ;) Ha!! Kelley was/is such a trooper. She is due Aug. 22...come on baby Caroline!
I tried to get a picture of them just chatting and they made fun of me and acted weird...
Stingray and shark tank ;)

After the zoo we all were craving some good sushi! Tyler knew of a really good place to try...

It was such a great place. We had great conversation...I think we could have stayed all night and talked. I know I just said it but we are so blessed to have such great friends. Kelley has been a friend of mine since 1st grade. It is so awesome that Tyler and Mark get along so well. To make the situation even better....the loved about 3 mins. away from us!!!!
The sushi was soooo goooood!!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's been forever since I linked up with Jamie at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesdays. I needed this today...I needed to sit down and think about some things I  "love." So after some thinking...

I'm loving:
My current Bible study. I love it and it's so perfect everyday. Thanks mom!
We Mark has been a die-hard DirecTV customer since his college days. We recently made "the switch." At first we weren't sure about it...but I am loving it today. There are so many fun free movies and kid shows for Wyatt, not to mention all the ones we have recorded. ;)
This little Mr....who couldn't love him?!?! Cutest kid EVER!
My new kitchen clock...I am now changing my entire house due to this clock. (Gotta love Target)Ha! Love it so much!
LOVE LOVE LOVE IKEA !!!
I love me some Diet Coke...but from a fountain...not a ca. ;( Life would be easier if it tasted the same.

Last but certainly not least....I am loving this Mr.!!! HA!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

IKEA finds...

We are back from IKEA and ready for the week. Well, I guess we are ready for the week. It's Monday again. ;( I really dislike Mondays because Mark is gone soooo long. He works his late night in the clinic on Monday's so it's almost Wyatt's bedtime by the time he gets home. Oh well, it could be worse I guess.

Anyway we had a crazy bust weekend. Nothing different than normal sadly enough. Mark, my dad, and I all left for IKEA in Friday night. We were able to do a few things Friday evening before they closed. We spent the night in a hotel near IKEA and started our shopping the minute they opened Saturday morning. We shopped till we dropped. Ha! Then we had to load the car...in the HEAT. When I say "we" I pretty much mean my dad and Mark. They are such troopers. There is no way we could do this every month and be as efficiante without my dad's help! Thanks pops!

We got home around mid-night Saturday night and began unloading the truck about 7am Saturday morning. We had everything unloaded, marked, and in it's spot just in time for the first pick up at 11:00am. Phew! Good thing my mom was there watching Wyatt too! He is all over the place and wanted to play outside SO bad! I am so glad my parent's get time with Wyatt even though they are 2 hrs. away.

We had pick ups until about 3pm. We showered and headed over to Mark's brothers for dinner. It had been a while since we were all together. We had a good time and we left around 7:45. Wyatt was worn out! He fell asleep on the way home and didn't wake until this morning about 6:30.

While at IKEA I did find a few fun items. I am trying to add a few things around the house to blend everything together. I feel like when we got married and moved into a house that we kinda just threw stuff together and made it work. Honestly we have been so blessed to have a lot of our items given to us or they were things we already had before we got married. I want the pieces to flow with everything. Ya know?!!?!? I don't want to buy new because we love what we have I honestly I want it to feel comfy. Ha! So.....here is what I found.....

A few new vases/decor:

I got Wyatt this tool belt....
and this mat for him to play with his cars:
Mark wanted some drawer organizers. Funny I know....LOL! He has to dress up so much and he gets ready in the dark. He says he hates have to search for black vs. navy socks. Too funny!!! So since our dressers are from IKEA they make drawers organizer baskets to fit inside....
Mark also irons his clothes every morning. Yuck! He always leaves the ironing board up and the bottom of the stairs. Something that kinda bothers me...;/ So to solve this problem I bought him an ironing board that goes on the counter. ;)
As I am creating this list I see I purchase a few more things than I remember....oops....

I also got a few items for my nieces lunch box since she will be going to 1st grade. (she didn't stay all day during K so bringing her lunch is a HUGE deal...ha!)

Hmm....I think that's about it. ;) I know I got a few more items but some will be used as gifts and I can't spill the beans yet! Hope you all had a great weekend.

IKEA love!

I know most of my readers know that I work from home. Mark and I were blessed by some friends that sold us a business when they moved out of state. (Thanks Joe & Leigh) The started EXPEDITE stl. Customers from St.Louis order IKEA items through our website and Mark and I (and my dad) travel to IKEA once a month and fulfill the orders. We bring the product back to St.Louis where we then either deliver it or the customers pick it up. It's a little stressful at times but what job isn't....right??!? We love it so much. I am able to work from home so I get to stay with Wyatt.

Mark and I were talking the other day about where we would be if we hadn't choose to be a part of this. Isn't it amazing how God works. We have been through some rough stuff the past 2 years and looking back God was there the entire time, even when I felt alone...he was there. Now, if only I can learn to trust him EVERY TIME I get "down" or stress...phew.

Anyway, I love to travel shop at IKEA once a month! There home decor. is so fun and cheap.  This way I don't feel so bad when I change it around so often.  If you aren't familiar with IKEA go check it out. If you are then you know the employees do not shop for you. It's your own sweat, blood, and tears pulling your items off the shelves. For me I pick up all the house ware, kitchen, curtains, children's, rugs, etc. It's so fun! I find so much cool stuff.

Wyatt is beginning to play a little harder and a little more "real." I mean, we will pretend to eat food or make car noises with his cars. He kinda makes some animal noises but he will feed them and hug some of the stuff animals. It's so cute! So last time I was there I got him this:

It's so fun and soft. The 15 piece set is cloth and only $7.99....cool huh? They have a few more cute ones....that I may have to get this month. ;/

I know he is a boy but I still this it's a fun toy for him. I also watch a little girl who is a few month younger than Wyatt and she LOVES these too. He is so cute playing with her and giving her food. LOL!

They do have something a little more boyish but last month they were out of stock....hopefully it's there this month:
I hope to find something fun for my niece and nephew this month too. Their b-day's are coming up and I am pretty sure no one will duplicate something from IKEA. Ha ha ha!

IKEA has great furniture too! We are currently working on getting the downstairs bedroom/office to look a little better. It's not very big but needs to be a functioning office and bedroom, both of which will be used regularly. We have been looking for a smaller corner desk and finally found the right one. We will be purchasing this in the near future:
Pretty cool huh? Well....I had to schedule this post because probably as you read it I am shopping away! Hope you'll are enjoying your Saturday!

Another weekend....

A few weeks ago a friend of our got a new puppy. He is so stinkin' cute....he is so little too! We took Wyatt over to see him.....he loved him so much! I have a video to share but I have to figure out how to get it in a post from my iPhone?!?! (Any help would be appreciated)
Meet Otis ;)
While we were there they had this fun water play thing up. We didn't have any swim stuff so good thing he is still little. We went commando....LOL! He loved it. We even let him go down the slide, with help of course. This boy has no fear in water....which is good and bad....I know!

Mark was out of town at a Bachelor party so Wyatt and I had to attend a graduation party a family member by ourselves. He is going to Mizzou so the party was all decorated yellow and black. It was so cute!

We have little gym this morning and then we travel to IKEA this weekend! We decided to leave this afternoon instead of at 4am....hotel with dad and hubby....this should be fun!! ;) Have a great weekend everyone!

Sweet Caroline...bah bah bah.....

Seriously I think my mom and I should start a business. Party planning...not wedding planning but baby shower, wedding showers, and birthday parties! We would be great.....a few weekends ago when I was home we threw a shower for one of my best friends who is expecting baby Caroline in late Aug. (though we are hoping she comes on the 12th because her mommy and I share the same b-day and it would be so fun to share with Caroline)

We had a pink tea party theme. Simple and sweet. We held the shower at my parent's house at 10am. We served coffee, hot tea, and water. Muffins, granola with fruit and yogurt, homemade strawberry and mixed berry butter (thanks to my amazing mom) and the cutest cookies EVER!
 Me, Kelley, and my mom
 Kelley and I
 The gang!
Tyler and "the guys/dad's" showed up during present time.....
We had a blast and they got some super cute stuff!!! Come on baby Caroline!
