Hanging out with Aunt Em and Uncle D....and "Silent for Cohen"

Today our niece and nephew hung out with us...such a good time! They love their new baby cousin so much. We watched Toy Story and played with some of Wyatt's toys. Ha! (Don't worry, he does have some big kid toys too!)
Uncle Mark hanging out....

Our nephew LOVES (and that's an understatement) Toy Story. Wyatt has a few Toy Story toys and Cruz just sets up anywhere, notice the entertainment center. Ha ha! Our niece LOVES to hold baby Wyatt. She is so great with him...today she put him to sleep.
We swam at Maw-Maw's house earlier today so everyone was so tired....

This evening some dear friends from home stopped by. My mom's best friend from high school and her daughter. Marci and I grew up together and both just had babies! It's so crazy how time passes....our babies are only 5 days apart. :) We "swapped" babies in this picture..
Another fun and busy day for us....:)

And to keep you posted...

tomorrow I will not be blogging. Instead I will be participating in this:

What: Moment of Silence for Cohen

When: Thursday July 1st from midnight to 11:59 pm.

How: Bloggers participating will post the Cohen banner (below) or simply post Cohen’s name in large letters on their blog.

Why: July 1st Megan and Brent will be holding Cohen’s memorial service. The moment of silence is an opportunity for Megan’s blog community to stand behind her and support her on this difficult day. Linking up will give Megan a chance to see the support at a glance.

Participating bloggers can Link Up on July 1st at Send Love To Cohen.
I usually try avoid things like this, not because I am trying to be rude or that my heart doesn't break for these people I just try to keep this blog uplifting. PERSONALLY I am not someone who likes to sit and read and cry...with that said...

I have recently experienced the loss of a child. No situation is ever the same and everyone deals with sadness in their own way. I lost a child the day he was born, I held him in my arms...my life with never be the same. Though we lost a child God blessed us with his twin brother. There will never be a day that goes by when we don't think about Ryder. Mark and I are firm believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and without him this would be impossible. He is our rock and right now in this time of deep hurt and sadness we are clinging to him.
Please pray for his family tomorrow as I know how hard it is to lay a child to rest. That day was the hardest day of my life but we knew he was no longer in the body we were laying to rest, he was already sitting on Jesus's lap looking down on us.

With all that said tomorrow I will be "silent" for Cohen.

Mother's do a body good :)

Today is Tuesday...that means my mom comes to visit! It was an amazing day. When she got here Wyatt had just finished eating and he stayed awake for a while. She was able to hold him with his eyes open for about 2 hours. So precious....

(I want him to stay like this FOREVER)

I fed him right before we left to run a few fun places. We went to lunch at P.F. Changs, delicious! I love that place. There is a mall near the restaurant that I don't get to visit very much so we walked around there. It is always just what I need when she comes to visit.

Then...tonight my dad came to stay with us. For work he travels and it makes his trip shorter to start 2 hours north of my parents home so he gets to stay with us every other week! Wyatt already loves when Eesie and Poppie come to visit! (he told me so)

Test Run...

Just checking....

"Make new friends, but keep the old...some are silver and the other gold"

(Kelley is in the middle-Liz, a friend that is visiting today, is on the left...it's me on the right)
This weekend was a blast. It was just what I needed...one of my best friends from high school lives about 5 hours away. She had the weekend off so she decided to come visit us for the weekend and meet our little Wyatt. :) We had so much fun! It's so great to be able to still spend time like that with a friend even though we are both married, live with distance in between, have jobs, and now there is a baby in the mix. She arrived Friday evening after dinner...she brought gifts...AND SWEETS! (just what a post prego who is trying to lose weight needs)

These are cupcakes, but not ordinary cupcakes. They are special. Each one HAD a unique flavor. I say had because they are no longer...stuffed french toast, raspberry lemonade, toasted marshmallow just to name a few! So delicious!

Cute wrapping....

Kelley painted this herself, she is so talented! It matches his room already! :)

Look how cute, it's a premiee size and for the first time these pants fit him! YAhooo!!!

The school teacher in me LOVES books, especially children's books. She said this was one of her favorites as a child so Wyatt needed it for sure! Seeing this book made Mark remember he had one too!

Saturday morning Mark played golf so Kelley and I made a quick run to Target! Oh how I love that place. :) Kelley actually is a manager for a Target where she lives so it was fun for her to get to visit a Target in another city! While we were there I got these new things for my hair...so fun, if you haven't tried them and you wear bobby pins a lot...you should! They work great!

Mark was home not to long after us so we all loaded in the car and went to hang out by his parent's pool. (someday I will remember to take a picture) Wyatt hung out inside with Maw Maw while we laid out. It's nice to be able to work on the tan in 3 hour time periods. LOL!

Saturday night Mark went to a concert with some friends so Kelley and I went to the mall and out to dinner. Where did we go??? Oh how I love...CPK! (CA Pizza Kitchen) Wyatt was a great little boy, he was a little late getting fed because we were at a restaurant but he didn't even mind...he just continued to sleep UNTIL the ride home. He screamed the entire way! Poor little man.

Sunday morning we snapped a few photos before Kelley left...

Then after she left Wyatt was pooped....LOL!

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you have a great week!!

1 month already?!?!!?

It is unreal how time flies. For so long I have just wanted it to keep going...I feel like I have always had something huge coming up in the future that I was counting down for. (like:college graduation, marriage, jobs, summer...) Now that I have become a mom I wouldn't mind for time to freeze. I wouldn't mind if this never changed...if time stood still...Wyatt could sleep on his daddy's chest forever, if when he was upset his mom had all the answers, he slept in a little bed next to ours, he went EVERY WHERE with us, I had alone time with him every 3 hours...I wouldn't mind it at all.

Instead time is flying by...Wyatt is 1 month old today. It has been one month today and that Mark and I experienced the greatest joy mixed with the worst sadness a person could imagine.

Today Wyatt Mark is one old! He is eating about every 3 hours and sometimes in the night he sleeps for 4 to 4 1/2 hour stretches. I am pretty sure his belly has started bothering him a bit but we are trying to get that under control. Even though he can't talk I am sure his favorite thing to do is sleep on his daddy's chest. (I KNOW it's Mark's favorite)
Wyatt's eyes are getting more and more blue everyday...maybe they will get as blue as Poppies! (we can only hope) On Friday we go to the Dr. for his month check-up. I know for sure he has started packing on the lbs! Breastfeeding is going so well. I joke when I say that if I wasn't breastfeeding I still wouldn't have ever held him. Ha, we have had so many visitors it's hard to get a turn. LOL, he has chubby cheeks now...and I am pretty sure he is about to get a roll on his leg. :) He has been many places with us, we don't hesitate to make trips to Target. Wyatt has smiled a few times (I know he doesn't do it on purpose but it's fun to see it) and he makes some crazy looking faces while he is sleeping. He is still sleeping in a mini-pack and play next to our bed at night. He sometimes takes his naps in there too but he has been sleeping during the day in his bouncer in the living room. We just got our video monitors in the other day so when the time comes the transition may be a little easier. :)
We love him so much it's crazy!!!! He is the greatest!!!

0 months...

I couldn't help myself, I had to put all the pictures on here. I could not pick just one. LOL! I had to take a lot just to get those. I still don't know why I tried to do it late at night, he just wasn't in the mood. Oops...I am sure this won't be the last time he doesn't want his mom to take his picture. :)
Wyatt,
0 months...really you are about 2 weeks in this picture. You weigh 5.12 lbs are 19.5 inches long. This is 1/2 an inch longer than when you were born and a little more than a pound less than when you were born. Your dad and I are loving every minute we have with you. Your eyes are getting more and more blue every day. When we are in public people we don't know say you look just like your daddy. When we see people that knew your daddy or I as babies always say..."it's hard to tell who he looks like." Mommy's favorite time to watch you is when I un-swaddle you first thing in the morning...you stretch SO BIG and yawn so cute. Ahhh....:) Daddy loves to come home from school and put you on his chest and take a nap with you.
Wyatt we are so lucky to have you. Words cannot express the joy you bring to our life. We have only been parent's for 3 weeks but I LOVE IT!!!

Weekend Recap

Monday, June 21 2010

I have to start this post with a BIG "Happy Birthday to you!" Today is my mom's big 5-0 B-day!! (sorry mom) I was with her this weekend and she is coming to visit tomorrow but I am bummed I couldn't spend time with her today. :( I don't know where I would be without my mom. I know that is such a cliche statement but it's so true. The past nine months have been the craziest roller coaster of my life and she has been there the ENTIRE ride, night and day. She is always there. I do not take that for advantage. Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!

*WARNING* This post is a long one...we had a great weekend visiting grandparents for the first time so that only means one things...lots and lots of pictures. :) Enjoy!

Friday: Toy Story 3 came out...so cute! I was not disappointed at all. (not that I thought I would be) I laughed and cried out loud. Ha! We have been going to movies with Mark's brother and his family and it's become a fun tradition for us. This was Wyatt's first movie, he loved it so much he slept through the entire thing. LOL!

Saturday: Mark played golf EARLY (6:15 am) Sat. morning so that as soon as he finished we could get on the road. Wyatt ate around 10:45, just about the time Mark got home. I had us all packed and ready to go! Wyatt slept the entire way there. He was great in the car. As soon as we got there he was hungry again. Ah! When we arrived we were greeted with a big welcome...

(the poster is kind of hard to see because of the sun)

Eesie and Poppie made a welcome banner for Wyatt!!

We traveled home for my cousin's high school graduation party. It was fun seeing family and friend's while we were there. It was the first time some of my family had see Wyatt!

Saturday evening more family came to see him...he got some presents too!

My aunt and cousin bought Wyatt some shoes that will be appropriate when we travel to J-town.

Mark also had some friends stop by and see Wyatt. He's a popular man, I know...:)

< Sunday morning we went to church and celebrated Father's Day. After church we went back to my parent's and ate lunch. Wyatt ate and we hit the road....before we left everyone had to have a turn holding him one last time. :)
