Baby Update....

Well, other than our scare at 12 weeks everything has been perfect throughout this pregnancy. The Lord has had his hands on us since day 1 in this wonderful journey. Just in the last week I have been starting to feel some braxton hicks, by this weekend they were a little more frequent. It was getting harder to fall asleep, still nothing to painful but uncomfortable FOR SURE! Sunday night they were a little stronger and I woke up Monday still feeling a little off. I ended up calling the Dr. while I was at work on Monday and they said it might be a good idea to come in and get checked just to be sure everything was still fine. My appointment was at 1:40, Mark had a final at 2:00. He has been at every appointment....they checked and I was dilated almost 2 cm. and checked to make sure everything else was still where it was supposed to be. They sent me straight to labor and delivery...this whole time I couldn't get a hold of Mark. I was almost checked in when he was able to get to the hospital. The started all the monitors on both babies and my contractions...yes, contractions! They were pretty frequent and I didn't even know! They weren't the painful ones. :) They gave me a shot to relax my muscles/uterus. They also gave me a shot with steroids for the babies lungs, just in case they would come sooner than later. They monitored me and both babies for most of the night. Mark stayed at the hospital with me and studied with a little light. I felt so bad for him. :( Throughout the night nurses were in and out, I was have quite a few contractions caused from a full bladder so they kept waking me up to use the restroom. Everything is going smooth today, I saw the Dr. again this morning. Hopefully I will go home tonight after 5! By home though I mean home to stay. :( No more work and some form of bed rest. :( The Dr. will see us on Monday! Since I was given the steroids they really want me to carry them for at least 4 more weeks, that will make me close to 35 weeks, yikes! We are so thankful God is so good and is in control of everything. We have been blessed throughout this entire adventure, Mark starts a 3 week break after his last final on Thursday morning. We are looking forward to hanging out and relaxing these next couple of weeks together!! :)

  2. We'll keep you and your babies in our thoughts and prayers. Our triplet boys were born at 30 weeks because I had over done it and landed myself on hospital bed rest from 24-30 weeks. I've learned that you get one chance to do this right. Although our boys are completely healthy I do feel guilt that that did not make it longer inside. LISTEN to those doctors and rest. Enjoy your last moments of quietness.

  10. I had braxton hicks starting in my first trimester. By 24 weeks they were bad enough that I was put on terbutaline in a pump. It's amazing what that can do to relax your muscles. I did a ton of sitting around the house. I was hooked up to a monitor twice a day for at least an hour (sometimes four) to monitor contractions. It was boring, but so worth it. My water finally broke at 36w 5d. If you are adamant about staying off your feet as much as possible, those little tykes should keep baking for a while. Good luck!
