It's Friday again!

1. If you could, would you go back to high school? Yikes, this is kinda hard. I loved high school. It was such a great experience for me but I am happy where I am now too!

2. If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes, what would they be? (And, no saying "more wishes".) Hmm.....#1 good health for my friends and family #2 successful practice for Mark when he graduates

3. What kids show do you secretly like? It doesn't have to be a secret...right now there aren't really show I watch/like since we don't have children yet. I love Disney movies though, like the classic ones that I watched as a kid. Mark and I are beginning to start our Disney DVD collection. Love it!!

4. What is your beverage of choice? Before I got pregnant I couldn't NOT go without my Diet Coke. (so I thought, lol) I don't really drink much diet drinks while pregnant. Right now I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with Simply Lemonade.

5. What is something that you would change about yourself (or are working to change in yourself)? Well, this is kinda hard. First I would change something about my body...if we were talking about me before pregnancy then I would change my legs. I don't like them at all, I actually hate them. They haven't changed since I got pregnant so that's still top on my list.

Show Us Your Life-Money Saving Tips

1. Coupons- I used to do a lot better than I have lately with coupons. It's for sure a money saver. We used to get the big newspaper with all the coupons in Sat. night and I would shop on Sunday.

2. Turn off the ac and lights! We try to REALLY turn off lights and tv's when we aren't using them. Also unplug our phone chargers when the phone isn't plugged into it. (they say that's a big one) There have been plenty of days in the 80's but we still haven't turned on the ac!

3. We don't run the dishwashers or laundry until there is a full load. Believe it or not this helped a lot!

Happy Friday everyone!

31 Weeks and the 1st "Fuming Friday"

31 wow wow! I know I am posting this and it's already almost 32 but I want to have a record of the weeks we go....

How far along? 31 weeks
How big are the babies? Squashes!
Best moment this week:Seeing them on the ultrasound (watching one yawn, precious)
Symptoms: I feel like I may pop. I don't know how I'm going to get bigger!
Movement: All the time!
Food cravings: No real cravings this week.
Genders: 2 boys
Milestones: The nursery is REALLY close to be finished....
Development: Babies are going through major brain and nerve development these days. Their irises now react to light, and all five senses are in working order. (They won't pick up anything from their noses until after birth, though -- smell is transferred through air, not amniotic fluid.)

Fun times!

Also for this post...."Fuming Friday." (I now have 3 different Friday post topics to I am going to be participating in so I thought I could do one kinda early. :) I might not do all 3 every week but this week I am going to try so....Enjoy!
Fuming Fridays

So here is how it goes: Post as much or as little about anything this week that you have fumed about....if you are still mad get it will help...I promise you that!

So this is new...go check out more "Fuming Friday" posts at Chronicles of Neely

1. Our backyard...we are in the process of planing grass and have just finished putting up a nice fence but our dogs just found a way around/under it. Really...100 lbs dogs!?!!

2. Even though I am almost 32 weeks pregnant, I have tried to keep complaining to a minimum, but I just want to SLEEP comfortably. Sad thing is...even after I am no longer pregnant I WILL NOT be sleeping with twins at home. :( (It will be great though)

3. My floors at our house. Ah, they can't STAY clean EVER. I clean clean and clean but I turn around and there is dog hair and dust all over again. :( What am I ever going to do when the boys start to crawl.

Ah, only 3...not to bad, that does feel a little better. Thanks ladies for listening to me rant...well "fume." Happy early Friday!

Glazed & Confused

Today I was invited to a paint day with my niece and nephew. I am sure most of you have seen these pick what you want to paint, paint while you are there, leave it, and they fire it and you come back and pick up the finished product. It's so fun! It's always really hard for me to choose something. I have so many ideas of things to paint when the boys come we all know...they aren't here yet! Today wasn't that hard though...they had SOCK MONKEY's! I don't know if I have mentioned on here but the sock monkey was Mark's security animal as a have incorperated it into the nursery a little. One would have been easy but 2 took FOREVER! LOL, again I guess somthing I am going to have to get used to...ha! Love it! Here are a few pictures:

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Tuesday: 2 Favorite Things about Summer

I love this topic, I know it's because I LOVE summer SO much! It's really hard to choose my top 2 favorite things about summer but I did. Enjoy!

As a child growing up we were ALWAYS around water. My grandparents had a huge neighborhood pool we would spend all day Sat. and Sunday swimming with family. When I was in high school we moved into a house with a pool (pictured above) so then all I did was walk out the back door. I was a lifeguard so...when I wasn't "on-duty" there was ALWAYS all the girls would come to our house to lay out...all day! Those were the days...right!?!?!? Now, I live 2 hours from my parents but my in-laws have a pool too! I can't imagine not having a pool to go to...LOL! They actually just took the cover off last week...bring on the sunshine, this prego belly needs some serious sun! :)

2. Flip Flops and Summer Clothes

I love wearing flip-flops so much! I would also live in a swim suit or Nike shorts and a t-shirt if I could.....:)

sidenote: growing up my family had a boat and we would go to the lake every weekend. it was a blast. so many memories were made as a family on those weekends. during high school my parents sold the boat and we didn't visit the lake as often. if we still had a boat, that would FOR SURE be my #1 favorite thing about summer. (just so you know) Ha!

31 Week Check-Up

Praise the Lord! Today was a great check-up! I was 31 weeks yesterday and moving right along. Contractions have slowed down A LOT since last week's scare, yahoo! They did an ultrasound today and I have over 8 lbs. of baby inside. :) Baby A is measuring 4 lbs 2 oz and Baby B is measuring 3 lbs. 12 oz! Growing boys. The twin-to-twin ratio was 7% still really good. Best news of the day....BOTH BOYS ARE HEAD DOWN!!!! The Dr. says after 32 weeks it's unlikely that they will turn because of the space left. :) We are so excited. Dr. says this makes for a MAJOR exciting delivery, not that all births aren't exciting but delivering twins naturally just doesn't happen everyday. We will continue to pray for safety no matter the way they enter the world. Speaking of entering the world....max time left is 6 weeks. Yikes, now that's hard to type, even harder to say out loud. I plan to post 31 week pictures soon.

This morning my sister and dad ran in the Nashville, TN 1/2 marathon. This is the second one my dad has run but the first for my sister. She sent me a text, "We are finished, 2 hours 13 min, NEVER again." Doesn't everyone feel like this when it's over!??! I wish I could have been there, such a special accomplishment! I love you dad and sista! So proud.....

A few years ago Mark and I ran in the St.Jude's half marathon in Memphis, TN. It was such an amazing experience! Running another 1/2 and even running a full marathon are 2 items on my 101 in 1001 List. I will do it! Mark and I have been talking about running the 1/2 my dad and sister just did next year. I think that is practical!?!? We shall see....

Show Us Your Life-How I met my husband

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

What a fun topic! It was really fun going back through old pictures I had saved on the computer. :) I coudn't find tons but a few cute ones....Enjoy!

Mark and I met in college.

Go Southeast Missouri State Redhawks! At the time Mark was a sophmore and I was a freshman. We met at the beginning of the second semester! He played golf and SEMO had just cut their program for the upcoming year. Mark was looking to transfer but he had not yet decided on a school. We had a few mutual friends and started hanging out together a lot. Each time I would find myself talking to him a bit more. I had just ended a 5 year relationship and was so confused about everything that was going on in my life at the time. I was also KINDA dating another guy...LOL, but as time passed I became more and more interested in Mark. Within a few months we were offical, about the same time summer had approached. Mark's home was 2 hours from mine and he had decided to transfer to a school about an hour away. We spent most of the summer together, hopping from one house to the other.

That summer we went to FL with some friends. We had a great time! By this time I am pretty sure we knew this was God's plan. We love being together...

It wasn't long before he "popped the question..."

We have done so many things together, have been many fun places! I am so glad I have been given someone to go through life with. He is my other half, he makes me complete! I had fun posting the rest of the pictures, hope you enjoy! Happy Friday!

Baby Books

I have had a few questions about the baby books I talked about in the last post. I found a picture of the "The Belly Book." I have been using...I only have a few more "pre-pictures" to add to the books to get them caught up!

The book above is a book to keep track of the pregnancy. It has a place for all the ultrasound pictures and also belly pictures each week. There is space for info. from the Dr. appointments and just cute questions about the pregnancy. Great keepsake!

The baby book we picked is from Target. For some reason I couldn't get the picture to upload. :( It's currently at Target and it has an elephant on the from. So cute....:) I don't know if I had ever realized how much information there is to fill in and when you have to do it twice...WOW! LOL!

Today marked the last day of finals for my Mr.!! Yahoo....he is so happy. When he got home today from his last final I could just see the relief in his face. Another Tri down, he checked his grades this afternoon and....another GREAT Tri! What a terrific husband! We are so excited to hang out for the next 2 1/2 weeks! (probably our last few weeks of "us" and peace and quiet.) Ha!

Tomorrow is our picture exciting! Our dear friends, Joe & Leigh, are coming to visit! Leigh is taking the pictures for us...she is so great! I will FOR SURE post them as soon as I can. We are looking forward to seeing them since they recently moved to TN. Pray it doesn't rain...we also plan to take a few pictures in the nursery and maybe a few in our room. I can't wait....EXCEPT I will be 31 weeks on Sunday and I think I am getting the dreaded dark line on my stomach. I hope I am imagining things but....I mean come on, 48 hours before pictures...?!?! Couldn't be worse I don't know how many pictures will be taken with the belly showing. :)

Curtis Card Creations

It's been a while since I talked about my mom's amazing card making talent. I have finally talked her into starting a blog. She is creative and can create a one of a kind card for ANY occasion. Check out her blog here, to order all you have to do is send an e-mail to the address listed on her blog and the rest is history. Give it a try...someone always needs a Birthday, Get Well Soon, or even a Just Because card, she can do it!

Modified Bedrest: Day 1

Well, close to week 12 I was put on full bed rest, bathroom privileges only! For now, this time is different. I have a few more privileges than just using the restroom and taking a shower. Thank goodness! Today has been such a beautiful day outside. :) The pups have been on their best behavior and I have been catching up on the Baby Books, Thank You notes, and the Belly Books. It's been nice. Mark will be home soon and only have 1 final left! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!! So exciting! He made, I knew he would, but it's always nice to check off another Tri! 3 down 7 to go...yikes, that sounds like a lot but time really does fly. Anyway, when he gets home today he is going to finish up the babies room, last odds and ends, to prepare for our pictures we are getting done on Friday. So exciting!!!!

Baby Update....

Well, other than our scare at 12 weeks everything has been perfect throughout this pregnancy. The Lord has had his hands on us since day 1 in this wonderful journey. Just in the last week I have been starting to feel some braxton hicks, by this weekend they were a little more frequent. It was getting harder to fall asleep, still nothing to painful but uncomfortable FOR SURE! Sunday night they were a little stronger and I woke up Monday still feeling a little off. I ended up calling the Dr. while I was at work on Monday and they said it might be a good idea to come in and get checked just to be sure everything was still fine. My appointment was at 1:40, Mark had a final at 2:00. He has been at every appointment....they checked and I was dilated almost 2 cm. and checked to make sure everything else was still where it was supposed to be. They sent me straight to labor and delivery...this whole time I couldn't get a hold of Mark. I was almost checked in when he was able to get to the hospital. The started all the monitors on both babies and my contractions...yes, contractions! They were pretty frequent and I didn't even know! They weren't the painful ones. :) They gave me a shot to relax my muscles/uterus. They also gave me a shot with steroids for the babies lungs, just in case they would come sooner than later. They monitored me and both babies for most of the night. Mark stayed at the hospital with me and studied with a little light. I felt so bad for him. :( Throughout the night nurses were in and out, I was have quite a few contractions caused from a full bladder so they kept waking me up to use the restroom. Everything is going smooth today, I saw the Dr. again this morning. Hopefully I will go home tonight after 5! By home though I mean home to stay. :( No more work and some form of bed rest. :( The Dr. will see us on Monday! Since I was given the steroids they really want me to carry them for at least 4 more weeks, that will make me close to 35 weeks, yikes! We are so thankful God is so good and is in control of everything. We have been blessed throughout this entire adventure, Mark starts a 3 week break after his last final on Thursday morning. We are looking forward to hanging out and relaxing these next couple of weeks together!! :)

30 weeks today!

It's sad I my last post was 29 weeks and now I am already posting 30...LOL! I am trying hard to not fall behind. I have kept track of the pregnancy through "The Belly Book." It's a really neat book, even though I have to write everything twice. (I guess I better get used to doing everything 2x's) I don't even realize the size of my belly until I look at the pictures I print off each week. Then I am like "Wow, I can't believe that is my body." Ha! At the last appointment the Dr. said the babies would/should double in size over the next 5 weeks. Is that even possible!?!? They are both weighing over 3 lbs. so I already have over 6 lbs. of baby inside...and boy do I feel like they are squished in there. I still have a few things on my "to-do" list before they come so we are all hanging in there.

You will have to excuse me because I HATE maternity clothes with a passion. I do everything possible NOT to wear them. I couldn't take a straight on picture because these are not maternity pants so they CAN NOT be zipped. LOL This shirt is from Forever 21 and I am pretty sure is supposed to be a short dress worn with leggings...don't care! It's comfy and works for me. :) My stomach sticks out so far. It really does make me laugh out loud when I see it in pictures.

Everywhere we go in our house has a baby item. :) I am NOT a clutter person and like everything to have a place but...I don't want to have all these items put together forever before they can even use them. We have 2 bouncers, 2 swings, 2 highchairs, 2 entertainers, etc. in their boxes downstairs. The garage has some boxes too! A pack and play and both car seats, which we will be putting in the car in the next few weeks. :) Again, I don't know if I posted this but if I am still pregnant June 9th....we will head to the hospital for delivery. (how delivered? still unknown...) Can't wait....7 weeks to go!!!!

29 weeks...

I can't believe we are already at 29 weeks. This week has been crazy! I am trying so hard to keep's not easy being 29 weeks pregnant with twins and working with 8 infants all day. WOW! My feet are showing my pain...they are HUGE! (picture for a later day) Ha! This week was a Dr. appointment week. Yahoo! It was so great to see them again. The pictures are of just a foot, head, profile, hand, etc. now because they are squished. Most of the pictures now are only of Baby B, Baby A is LOW LOW LOW so they can hardly even get measurements of him. (It seems he is RIGHT on my bladder 24/7). Then there is Baby B, his head is in my right rib...ALL the time. I have to sit with perfect posture to even feel relief. I find myself sitting sideways too! Good thing the hubby can adjust me's been such a blessing to be able to "visit the Chiropractor" in my basement. :) We had our ultrasound Monday afternoon. We heard both heartbeats, 146 and 143. They are measuring 3 lbs. 2 oz and 3 lbs. 3 oz. The twin-twin ratio is only 3%! The lower this number the better. First time they were measured it was 7%, second time was 5% and this time 3%. At 11% they get concerned of the different growth. We go back in another 2 weeks for another ultrasound and Dr. appointment. These 2 week appt. make time fly even quicker! The Doc. said if I was still carrying the boys at 37.5 weeks he would induce or
c-section (depending on their position). Mark is off for 5 days so this would be amazing! Speaking of Mark, today marked the beginning of finals week. Thursday to Thursday, ah! We were talking tonight about how this weekend will be 6 weeks from 37.5 weeks and how quickly his breaks fly by. His break is 3 weeks long so...when school starts back in the beginning of May we won't have much time left. We are going to be parents of twins. I can't even type this without crying. LOL! Words can not express our excitement. There is a lot going on in our lives right now with jobs, his school, etc. (Say a little prayer if you think about it, please!) We trust the Lord will provide, he has a plan and we are just following his direction. Ok, sorry about all that...babies, so I have some pictures....of my belly. WOW, is all I can say. In clothes it doesn't seem as big I don't think. It seems one day I was just a pregnant woman and now I am the "woman who is about to pop." I get stares and weird looks all day. It kinda makes me chuckle.

This picture is terrible of my face. Please note: I worked all day at a daycare (we played outside and my face got sunburned), we don't have on our ac (so our house is 75 degrees), and Mark is taking the picture. :)

Weekend Recap

Wow, I feel like every Monday I start with the same sentence. "Wow...what a busy a weekend!" This one was crazy. First, Sunday marked 29 weeks...the most I have is 8 weeks left. That is so crazy to think about, actually REALLY scary to think about! We had a great weekend and were able to spend time with family and friends...

We were able to eat at a fun restaurant..."The Boat House" in Forest Park. We have tried to eat here a few time but it just hasn't worked out...Malerie and Brent have also tried to a few times to go so we were all able to go together. It was great fun!

Saturday afternoon I had another baby shower...crazy I know! (That's what happens when your family all lives in different towns.) This shower was at Mark's parents house, given by his mom and aunts. It was so nice. Mark and I have been so blessed through this entire pregnancy. Among many amazing thoughtful gifts, Mark's aunts got our car seats and my "teacher friends" filled a wagon with AMAZING items. We are ready to go now....:)

doesn't stop there....Saturday night....a bachlorette party! One of my friend's from high school is getting married in May (praying I can make it) and Sat. night was her bachlorette party. I went for a few hours but then had to GET HOME TO BED. I was so tired. It was so fun seeing all the girls that I hadn't seen in a while though.

I am beginning to look a little was a long day. LOL

Then came Sunday...Sunday morning at church was Baby Dedication. Baby cute....

It is so emotional. (maybe because I am pregnant) It's just so amazing to be able to be a part of our friends baby dedication. It really represents something so important and we feel so honored the Lord blessed us with such great friends at church. :)

It's not over yet...then after church Baby Jacob's parents had a BBQ for everyone. The weather was beautiful! We were only able to stay a few hours before we attended the LAST baby shower. It was so sweet. My 5th grade students (and their mom's) gave us a baby shower. Again, we are so blessed. Since I am not teaching there anymore it was so great being able to see/visit with everyone. I don't have the pictures from the shower yet.

We came home after the shower and spent 4 hours unpacking and putting away things from the shower on Sat. and Sunday, because I was caught up on Friday, and it looks like we didn't even make a dent! NOT KIDDING...

I am only putting this picture up so you'll will believe me...I don't want this to be the big "Nursery Reveal" so.....:)

Well, there is a weekend recap. I am going to spend the rest of today cleaning up the room, running errands and GOING TO THE DR.!!!! (yahoo, ultrasound today)

Happy Monday everyone!
