Bachelorette Party Time! (Preview)

One of my dear friends is getting married next weekend. I can't wait! It seems like we have been planning a long time. (when I say we...I mean she) There are some beautiful wineries around us so we decided on the "wine theme." We are going to eat lunch at one in St. Gen. on Saturday. The party starts Friday evening. :) Like I said this post is just a preview of the weekend to come. I will post more pictures. All the Bridesmaids will be spending the night at my house so I have started decorating last night...thanks to the help of my mother-in-law!

My mother-in-law made this cake...amazing right!?!?!

I had seen painted glasses before and wanted favors for the girls...we made these ourselves!

This is just a basket I made for decoration.

Favor bags, I love the colors. The bags were only $.59 and I found ribbon to match her colors. Way cheaper than buying wine bags for every girl!

More decorations....
I will have many more pictures to come, including my bedroom. I decided to paint one wall last night in the middle of all the preparation. I know...I am crazy!

No matter how much sleep, I am still so tired...

It seems no matter how early I go to bed...I still wake up tired. I want to be on a tighter schedule really bad! I know, only I can make this change. :) Just as I have will be Christmas Break. I can't wait...Oct. 1 I break out the Christmas music! The students in my class had me create a countdown on the board! (only 7 days) Today I was reading a Facebook status of a friend and she was "listening to Praise Baby Christmas." Oh how I would love that DVD, I do not have children yet but I KNOW FOR SURE I would watch it by myself!! I am going to have to look for it! :) Tonight Mark and I will be attending an Engagement Shower for one of my close friends from high school. It's going to be so exciting! Hopefully I will have some pictures to post tomorrow!

This just made me laugh so I thought I would share...

I love family time!

It's always so good to get to be with family. This weekend my family came up to visit. (How could they resist...Logan turnd 1!!!) Saturday we had a party, it was great fun...I will post pictures later. Last night we took family to "Stir Crazy," it's an awesome resturant where you create your own stir fry. Then we went to FroYo, a frozen yogurt place. It's in the "loop." It was a fun evening filled with eating! We all got up and got ready for church. It was rainingf pretty bad and we were almost there and were not able to get on the highway we needed due to a bad accident. We tried to get around but it took to much time and we would have been REALLY late to church. Bummer, we were sao excited to take my parents too! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

God is so good...

So often I find myself saying "I have just been so busy, I can't wait for things to slow down." Many things have been unfolding recently and God continues to send me in the right direction. Just when I felt so tired and worn down God showed this verse to me. It's one we all are familiar with but it's just so good.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Need I say more!?!?!!?!?

Friends, friends, friends....

Mark and I are so blessed to have such great friends. This weekend was full of time spent with them! Saturday morning me spent time with one my my bestest :) friends from high school. She is engaged and Mark has become such great friends with her fiance. We took a trip to the Soulard market, what an amazing place. I will be going back there soon! It's been around since the 1700's!?!!? Then we traveled to "Fast Eddies." This places was crazy. They haven't changed their food prices since they opened. Hamburger $.99, fries $.99, cheeseburger $1.29....I couldn't believe this place. That evening Mark and I were able go to dinner with some friends from Logan. It is such a blessing to know we are making friendships that will only get stronger and may last a lifetime. We went to dinner at a really fun Mexican restaurant and then go ice cream. On Sunday morning Mark and I were able to go to church. Our church is growing so we had to move locations, this Sunday was our first Sunday in the new building. It was so great! Last night my dad came up and began some house updates...actually cutting a hole in our wall. (I will not try to explain, I will post pictures later!) I hope everyone had as good as weekend as I did. Have a great week!

Busy as a bee

I have officially failed, no 30 posts in 30 days. :( I guess I could start in the middle of the month and try to go for a month. My brain doesn't work that way...on the tenth day of the month I should have ten posts. Oops!?!? I will try in Oct. (which will not happen considering we are gone EVERY weekend) Oh well. I am getting better on posts. School is officially back and 4th week is almost over. Time flies when your having fun! Last night I had a Pampered Chef party. It was a great turnout for the host! It's always such a blessing when I can tell people truly care and really try to make these parties a good time. Tonight Mark and I will be heading to Chesterfield for a BBQ with some Logan friends. They are so fun, it's always a good time with other married couples! This weekend went from being nothing to being something. A friend of mine from high school who lives in St.Louis wants to go to Soulard Market. Her fiance is in town so all four of us are making the trip Sat. morning! I love Farmer's Markets...I can't wait!

Well, I had Monday off! It was so nice having a 3-day weekend. I know it hasn't been long since school started but it's a well needed break for sure! Yesterday I tried the peanut butter cookies from another blog I follow. It's listed on the side as "Baking Fun." They were really good, don't look at her display and then presentation wasn't so good. :( They were AMAZING though!

Mark and I finished the day with a trip to the St. Louis Zoo! It's one of our favorite places in St.Louis! I will upload a slide show later!

Box Cake...but it still looks good

Yesterday was such a crazy day for us! I am the Volleyball coach for GreenPark, the school where I teach, and yesterday we had a tournament all day! My students had a substitute on the last day before a holiday weekend! Ah! Oh well...the volleyball girls are getting better each game! Yahoo!! When I got back home Mark really wanted me to make the marble box cake that has been in our pantry for a long time. (Don't worry it wasn't expired) I made the cake and we had some friends over. My sister and her friend were also in town for the MU game and were able to spend the night. It was a great night of fellowship with friends and family!

He is almost 1....

My pup is almost 1. I can't believe it's almost been a year! I will post more on his b-day but I couldn't help but share these quick photo's from last night!

Trying something new...

Recently my sister-in-law made an amazing birthday cake. (it was posted on a past blog) Since then I have really wanted to try to make a few cakes. I don't have to become an expert but I want to be able to make one if I need it. When I say "make one" I mean really make a neat cake! Last night it was really late and I wanted to work with some fondant. Perfect thing to start with...I know..right!?!? WOW! I was terrible. I made some homeade buttercream icing to cover the cake. Mark licks the spoon and says "you should make icing like this every time you bake, it tastes like a real bakery." Boy, am I creating a monster! :) I love him! Here are the pictures, I promise I will get better and I am not giving up.
