Lots going on....

It's been over a week since my last post...wow...I am not usually that bad. Oh well, life has been crazy around the Schmitz house! Last week and weekend was really busy for us. Mark had mid-term last week and this week he has had tests too. It's never ending, 3 1/2 year and counting. We are so excited about this weekend. First, I have tomorrow off!!! YAHOOOO!!!! We have had parent teacher conf. all week so we get Friday off. I have so many things on my "to-do list." I am excited about checking them all off though. Saturday we are having some of our friends from Logan over to celebrate Halloween!?!?! We themed the party...Disney couples....we can't wait. (pictures will be posted, I am sure of it) Sunday I have a baby shower to go to, such fun times. :) Happy Thursday to everyone...it's my Friday!!!

Famous Potato Soup & Cookies

This evening Mark and I are having some friends from Logan over for dinner. I am so excited for our menu. My mom has a famous potato soup. (no kidding, she was in a mag. once) I have never attempted to make it on my own...yikes. We shall see! This soup is something I hope to pass on to my children from their grandma, actually I will let her teach them! Won't that be so cool?!!? If it's not so good I still get the real thing this weekend. YAHOOO!!! It's Sam A. Baker weekend. This means FUN, RELAXING, FAMILY TIME!! Oh, those three words together...music to my ears! I also made some pumpkin cookies...so cute huh? Happy Thursday!

Wedding Weekend

Well it feels as if we are still recovering from such a busy weekend. Though it was busy it was so fun! We were able to see friends we haven't seen in a long time and then Sunday visit with family. I loved it! I don't have many pictures because I am currently in between cameras...
:( Here is the site of the photographer with the link to the pictures, they are no all posted but enough to make you smile! Happy Fall....

And that's another...Jackson Indian...1st down!

Kelly's Korner topic for this Friday was Tailgating. When I hear that word I don't think of college...I think all the way back to high school, yes I know...crazy right?!?! I didn't really get into the "tailgating" in college. My hometown shuts down on Friday nights for the football games..no lie! I have been out of high school for over 6 years now and was still able to go to Facebook and find pictures to post on here. Interesting huh? I speak for most of my town when I say "I'm from the country and I like that way!"

Yes, that's me on the right in 2002.

I am in this one too!

Bible Study

God has been so good by allowing the opportunity for me to join a Bible study. It is so awesome to make time for fellowship with other women. We are doing a book study, Lies Women Believe and the Truth that Sets them Free. This week was about "lies women believe about marriage." There was a verse discussed, Psalm 27:14. It says "Wait upon the Lord:Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the Lord." Wow pretty strong verse huh!?!? I am striving to make that my motto. :) What's your life verse right now?

Become a Follower...

I have been making many changes to my blog. (well, I haven't been doing all the work) I am trying to make it more reader friendly. The purpose of my blog is to keep everyone up-to-date on Mark and I. I am 2 hours away from my hometown and I have MANY family members there I miss so badly. I do not want them to miss a beat. They are my family and I don't want to feel like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter are holidays to play "catch up." On the right side of my blog feel free to "become a follower," family or friend! The more the merrier! :)

A Rainy Day....:(

Sometimes I am fine with rainy days but today...not so much. It has been so crazy around our house for the past month and the slowing down is no where in sight. This Thursday I will be traveling home for one of my dear friend's wedding. We all have to be there early Friday morning. Mark has 3 tests this week. He is doing so well at school and still does stuff around the house. (as long as he has a list) He is so great! He has test #2 today and #3 tomorrow...then he can breathe for a few days! :) I can't wait for him to feel relieved. It just feels every night we/I have something to do. Oh well, at least I can do it all...right!?!!?

As I have been typing this the sun began peeking out behind the clouds..."this is the day the Lord has made...let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Happy Fall everyone!

October 1st...Such a Big Day!!!

October 1st is an exciting day around my house. I start listening to Christmas music! I love it so much. I would listen to it year round but that would take all the anticipation and fun out of the Christmas Season. My 5th grade class has had a countdown for Oct. 1st! I think they were just as excited as me to listen. I even had one girl wear snowman earrings for me. So cute..huh?!? Just look at these pictures....so peaceful....

Today is also such a big day because it's my niece's birthday! This year she turns 5! I can't believe it...she is growing up to be such a beautiful young lady.

Happy Birthday Ariel...Love ya, Uncle Mark and Aunt Em
